What is the primary difference between the Sanremo F18 and F18SB?
The Sanremo F18 is a multi-boiler espresso machine, whereas, the F18SB is a single-boiler espresso machine. Multi-boiler machines are more temperature stable and offer direct temperature controls of the brew boiler. The F18SB can adjust boiler pressure, but cannot directly impact brew temperature.
Who is the F18SB for?
Higher volume cafes that are focused on getting as much coffee out as possible are prime candidates for this machine. Drive throughs and busy coffee shops would benefit from the features of this machine.
What is the benefit of PID control on a single boiler machine?
Even though you can't set specific temperatures on a single boiler machine, PID control means that the machine has a more accurate reading of when to draw power to the heating element. This engages the element sooner than it would otherwise on a manual pressure stat like on the Sanremo Zoe Competition.
How long will this machine last?
As long as proper water filtration is maintained and preventative maintenance is performed, we would expect around 7-10 years of life.
What's the next level up in the Sanremo range?
The F18 Multi-boiler is the next step up in the Sanremo range. The body is aesthetically almost the same, but features independent brew boilers for each head and a dedicated steam boiler. This system provides superior temperature stability and control as well as greater capacity.
All new Sanremo espresso machines come with a 1-year parts warranty from the original order date. Voltage provides an additional 1 year labor warranty. The absence of water filtration voids this warranty.
